چکیده
The objective was to investigate the mechanical properties, fluoride release and apatite formation of resin based dental composites on a containing Bioactive Glass (BG) with without silylating agent. A SiO2–P2O5–CaO–SrO–Na2O–CaF2 BG synthesized by melt quench route. This glass commercially available inert (IG) were incorporated into light cured BisGMA-TEGMA resin. composite resins then evaluated in terms their ability form Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) following immersion artificial saliva at pH 4 (AS4) 7 (AS7). experiments performed silylation BG. compressive strength flexural determined after 1, 28 84 days AS4 AS7 media. FTIR spectra exhibited split bands approximately 560 600 cm?1 corresponding surface or under all conditions. SEM showed presence reacted layer particles AS7. significantly higher for silylated composites. strengths both non IG decreased upon immersion. exhibit reduced but still comparable existing

Bioactive Glass Fiber-Reinforced PGS Matrix Composites for Cartilage Regeneration
Poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) is an elastomeric polymer which is attracting increasing interest for biomedical applications, including cartilage regeneration. However, its limited mechanical properties and possible negative effects of its degradation byproducts restrict PGS for in vivo application. In this study, a novel PGS-bioactive glass fiber (F18)-reinforced composite was developed and cha...
متن کاملDental Ceramics/Bioactive Glass Composites: Characterization and Mechanical Properties Investigation
Apart from a good bioactive behavior, composite materials for dental applications should attain high mechanical properties. Thus, the aim of this work was the fabrication and characterization of novel sol-gel derived dental ceramics/bioactive glass composites and the investigation of their mechanical properties such as flexural strength and Weibull modulus. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrosco...

متن کاملBiomimetic Bonelike Composites and Novel Bioactive Glass Coatings
Metallic orthopaedic implants have been successfully used for decades but they have serious shortcomings related to their osseointegration and the fact that their mechanical properties do not match those of bone. This paper reviews recent advances in the fabrication of novel coatings to improve implant osseointegration and in the development of a new generation of hybrid organic-inorganic impla...
متن کاملPreparation and bioactive properties of nano bioactive glass and segmented polyurethane composites.
Composites of glutamine-based segmented polyurethanes with 5 to 25 wt.% bioactive glass nanoparticles were prepared, characterized, and their mineralization potential was evaluated in simulated body fluid. Biocompatibility with dental pulp stem cells was assessed by MTS to an extended range of compositions (1 to 25 wt.% of bioactive glass nanoparticles). Physicochemical characterization showed ...
